GRAND TURK, TURKS & CAICOS
This island has some of the best diving and
snorkeling anywhere, courtesy of one of the
world’s largest network of coral reefs, easily
accessible off the island’s shores. One reef,
aptly called the Wall, is particularly
spectacular; it drops 7,000 feet straight down!
Between the shore and the reef, the water is
only waist deep, providing a perfect place for
beginning snorkelers to get their feet wet.

Today we’ll sail southeast through the Atlantic, giving you plenty
of time to enjoy the ship’s luxurious amenities and relax in-between

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 5
ROAD TOWN, TORTOLA, BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
You’ll begin the day by sailing into the famous
horseshoe-shaped harbor of Road Town, capital
of the British Virgin Islands, where most
activities begin and end on the island of Tortola.
This island is a sailor’s paradise, its wealth of
inlets and harbors have been transformed into
luxurious moorings for yachtsmen of the
Caribbean. Legend has it that after Christopher
Columbus discovered the other Caribbean
islands, he returned to Tortola to live.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 6
GUSTAVIA, ST. BARTS, FRENCH WEST INDIES
Tiny St. Barts is a pastel-colored slice of serene Normandy,
Brittany, and the Cote d’Azur transplanted to the turquoise
waters of the Caribbean. In the capital town of Gustavia you
will find an intriguing mix of both French and Swedish
architecture reflecting the island’s varied history. Sprinkled
amongst the
historic buildings of
the town is fabulous
duty-free shopping
at today’s finest
luxury purveyors
such as Cartier,
Hermès, and Gucci. |

MONDAY, DECEMBER 8
ORANJESTAD, ARUBA, DUTCH WEST INDIES
The town was built around Fort Zoutman
shortly after it was constructed in 1776 and
Oranjestad has been the capital of Aruba
ever since. As you disembark you’ll be
greeted by the dockside bazaar where
Aruban handicrafts abound and bargaining
is expected. The charming port city is best
explored on foot. Its palm-lined central thoroughfare runs
between old and new pastel-painted buildings of typical Dutch
style. If it’s culture you’re looking for, Oranjestad has a handful of
distinctive museums and houses of worship to visit, many of
which offer free admission.

As our education continues, we’ll sail west through the stunning
blue waters of the Caribbean Sea towards the eighth wonder of the
world—the Panama Canal. |

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 10
CRUISE THE PANAMA CANAL
An engineering marvel, the
canal has reduced the continental
divide and drastically eased
global commerce. With three
sets of locks, the 51-mile trek is
an awe-inspiring testament to
human ingenuity. Constructed
more than 90 years ago, the conduit altered the geography of the
Americas forever. Dams stopped rivers in their tracks. Valleys
became lakes, and mountains islands. Sailing through the most
lush of tropical landscapes, this day aboard the Serenity promises
stunning vistas and peaceful escape.

We’ll sail out of the Gulf of Panama into the Pacific Ocean on our
way to Caldera. The editors will wrap up their presentation series,
leaving you with the most actionable advice so you return home

DISEMBARK IN CALDERA, COSTA RICA
Situated in an unspoiled region of the coast,
with close proximity to many tourist
attractions and nature reserves, Caldera is
home to a dazzling array of flora and fauna,
and is great if you want to have an
incredible eco-adventure or just lie back
and take in the stunning surroundings. This
small port town is known for its amazing
cliffs, with breathtaking views of Costa
Rica’s Pacific Coast.
